Dear Parents and Whanau of Grace Kindergarten,
As you know, Grace Kindergarten recently conducted a survey of parents to explore the preferences regarding the session times. Based on that feedback, we are currently exploring the following option for 2015:
Monday 8.30am – 3.30pm Older Children Session
Tuesday 8.30am – 3.30pm Older Children Session
Wednesday 8.30am – 1.00pm Younger Children Session
Thursday 8.30am – 3.30pm Older Children Session
Friday 8.30am – 1.00pm Younger Children Session
These days were chosen because:
- Currently we operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday for the younger children. This option retains two of these days.
- A number of public holidays fall on Monday. If the younger children are only coming twice a week it would be advantageous to avoid Monday.
- Finishing by 1pm on Friday allows time for the pack up of the kindergarten outside the session time.
- These hours still allow younger children to attend Mainly Music on Thursday morning.
- Having some days similar to local kindergartens allows children to still attend other local activities such as swimming, soccer or gymnastics.
The Board and staff are in the process of considering this potential change in operating hours. The period for consultation runs until the end of November.
